the Tribebeastssnooty cat

an achievement

catporn with Zoolwe've finally got round to doing a proper Google site map for the Tribe, and in so doing, we have gained access to a lot of useful information about our ranking.

we are, it seems, number one hit for catporn, which features this picture. We're so proud :) And we still miss Zool so much - it's three years and a month since we lost her :(

so sad

I can't believe this - Zool was sitting on the garden wall this morning when I left, and I laughed at her and told her not to try and get in the car, because she loved cars, and would leap in them at any opportunity.

which has proved to be her downfall - I got home from Bracknell to find a message on the answering machine from the vet. She'd been hit by a car, and killed instantly.

We'll write more later - we're too devastated right now :(

the perfumed one

this afternoon, Zool arrived home reeking of scent.

we have no idea how this could have happened - it smelled vaguely like Dior's Poison (which is appropriate, really), but so strong - as though someone had actually spilled some on her. or, even more terrifying ... has she sauntered into one of the neighbouring houses and knocked over a bottle of expensive perfume, then rolled in it? I wouldn't put anything past her.

so now, just when we thought she couldn't get any worse, she is a plush, moist, perfumed little cat. Where will it all end?

she's following me ..

this morning, I decided to pop up to the bakery in the village to get some rolls for lunch. Zool followed me out of the back door, down the garden, into the road, round the corner ... well, you get the picture. It's a quiet walk through the housing estate, so I wasn't too worried.

she finally bottled about 10 minutes away from home, in which time we'd seen a parrot in a garden (in its cage), two dogs on leads (thankfully), and a large British Blue cat who took a dim view of Zool on his territory. Such a fun journey ...

and it wasn't even her colour

due to an unfortunate chain of events this morning, our stair carpet is now covered in dark grey nail polish. Those familiar with the Tribe will be unsurprised to learn that Zool was at the beginning of this trail of destruction.

I have a bunch of nail polishes in a wicker basket that lives on the bookshelves at the top of the stairs (for no good reason). This basket has come to grief before, albeit without serious implications, and thus has been moved to the bottom shelf.

on hearing a clank and a crash the other day, we hurtled out of the study to find Zool surrounded by bottles of nail polish. And not looking far enough into the future, we spent some time smiling at her indulgently, without realising that her investigation of the bookshelves had disturbed the 2-cell Maglite that lives on the top of them, to assist forays into the loft.

I'm here to tell you that a Maglite of that description, falling (in what looked like slow motion as we watched) onto a bottle of dark grey metallic quick dry nail polish that is on the edge of a top step, can cause a spectacular amount of said polish to go an amazing distance.

bloody cats ...
