Lilith

Chocolate Silver Shaded Burmilla

born 25 August 2003

A golden-eyed killing machine, Lilith is pluth enough to feature as the pet feline of a megalomaniac bent on world domination, in Blofeld stylee. Except that it would be her taking over the world – if she could be bothered.

A cat of extraordinary beauty and huge intelligence, Lily is like no other cat we have ever lived with, or even encountered. Since the day we brought her back from Plymouth, she has pretty much ignored humans; we’re good for opening tins, and providing a bed to sleep on, and that’s it. There’s virtually no interaction between her and us- she rarely speaks, and never purrs. She will sometimes make a small noise if you encounter her outside. I have no idea whether she is pleased to see us or not (apart from the aforementioned tin opening).

Presumably, she treats other blobs with more interest – we know that she has at least one devoted fan in a house backing on to ours, as we have seen her climb the kitchen roof to the girl’s bedroom window sill, and tap on the glass until she is let in. Curiously, Zool would do the same.

A frighteningly efficient assassin, she has reduced the wildlife of North Somerset to virtually zero – she’s not at all unlike Pol Pot in that regard. But despite all of this, we are hugely fond of her – because, after all, she is a cat …
