Sleek, is Pteppic. And a bit of a camp cat, I’m afraid – in the Noel Coward stylee. A green velvet smoking jacket would suit him down to the ground.
Unusually for a Siamese, he’s quite diffident, and I don’t think he’s all that bright, to be honest. But he’s hugely affectionate, albeit often wearing a rather furtive and guilty look.
Pteppic liked to sleep on my pillow at night, and he sounds like a walrus – at least, if that isn’t how a walrus sounds, it damned well ought to be!
We very nearly lost him in October 2003 for details, and we’re extremely glad to have him with us still.
Ptep absolutely adores having kittens in the house, and will spend hours with them; he’s also wonderful to any cat that is ill, and cuddles up with them and keeps them warm.
Ptep and his lifetime companion Esk emigrated to Norwich at Christmas 2007 to live with our daughter and grandson.
He is, mostly, a jolly nice chap. Except when he isn’t. But then, after all, he is a cat …
